Fernanda Corsini,1997. Was born, lives, and works in São Paulo, Brazil. Graduated in Architecture and Urbanism, and moved to Austria in 2019 to study at the Institute of Contemporary Art at Technische Universität Graz, where she started her research in Visual Arts.
Her interests lie in investigating intimacy to elaborate themes of her daily life such as veins a woman, identity, self-image, sexuality, and Christian guilt. In her works, Collage is very present as she understands that identity is not unique but plural. In the series “Ser é estar” performative self-portrait fragments form new identities while the process of sewing these parts reinforces constant reconstruction, like a scar that represents pain and healing simultaneously.
In art, I saw the power of deconstruction as a mean to reconstruct, to find myself. Being an artist is an exercise of faith.
